If you’re also a sucker for those little bags of expensive seaweed snacks, I have good news for you: they’re incredibly easy, cheap, and quick to make at home. All you really need is nori, rice paper, a little oil, and an air fryer.
This version is basically the slightly fancier version, with tofu tucked inside and little extra seasoning for more flavor. These are really super simple to make, but tastes so so so good! They’re great straight from the air fryer with a dipping sauce, but you can also let them cool down and enjoy them cold. Plus they make a really fun crunchy topping for salads and soups, I know you’ll love these!

How to make Rice Paper Seaweed Bites
Start by cutting the tofu into strips. Dip each rice paper briefly in water, then sprinkle it with everything bagel seasoning. Add a sheet of nori and two tofu strips, then roll everything up tightly.
Cut each roll into 4 pieces and lightly brush them with oil. For the best and crispiest result, use an air fryer. Air fry the bites at 400°F/200°C for 4-5 minutes, turning them once halfway through. Work in batches and don’t overcrowd the basket.
No air fryer?
You can also make these in the microwave instead. Place the bites on a microwave-safe plate and cook them in short bursts until the rice paper gets cripsy. The exact timing will depend on your microwave, so keep an eye on them.

How to serve Rice Paper Seaweed Bites
These babies are mainly meant for snacking. You can eat them warm straight from the air fryer, or wait a couple of minutes for them to crisp up even more (while they are still warm). Or let them cool completely. They’re also perfectly good cold.
Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce. Spicy mayo, peanut sauce, garlic tahini, or a simple ginger-garlic soy sauce are all great options.
Use any leftover Rice Paper Seaweed Bites as an extra crispy and savory topping for salads or soups.

Customize it the way you like it!
- Everything bagel seasoning gives a delicious flavor to these bites, but you can omit it, if you don’t have it on hand. Or use toasted sesame seeds, chili flakes, garlic powder, or cracked black pepper instead
- For the filling you can go with plain tofu if you want a simple and extra quick version. But you can also marinate your tofu first, or even fry it, if you prefer
- And play around with the dipping sauce! Spicy mayo, peanut sauce, black beans sauce, garlic tahini or a simple ginger-garlic soy sauce are all delicious here
