- 1.5 lbs/700 g potatoes
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- salt, pepper
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Peel and grate potatoes. Transfer to a clean kitchen towel, and wring out as much liquid, as possible.
- Add potatoes, rice flour, garlic powder, smoked paprika (or whatever spices you like), and a large pinch of salt and pepper to a bowl. Mix everything well together using your hands or a spoon.
- Preheat your waffle iron. Once hot, spray or brush with some oil, then add a large scoop of the potato mixture in the middle. Close and cook for about 5 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Using a knife or spatula, carefully remove the waffle from the waffle iron. Repeat with the remaining potato mixture.
- Serve waffles with toppings of your choice. Enjoy!
Notes
Depending on the size of your waffle iron, this recipe will make 4-8 waffles. For the best result (crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside), you want to add about 1 inch/2 cm of the potato mixture to the waffle iron.
